Violence tax on guns, ammo being considered by Cook Co. President Toni Preckwinkle, report says

The Chicago Sun-Times reports she may try to tax guns and ammunition sold in the city and suburbs to raise money for the cash-strapped county.

Preckwinkle's chief of staff says the plan could help raise money and reduce violence.
