The agency announced Thursday it is making more information available in the 'school bus report cards' it posts online at njmvc.gov.
The website now posts the percentage of buses within a specific school yard or bus company that have passed inspection or been placed out of service.
It also lists the reasons for a bus failing inspection and subsequent inspection results.
The agency inspects 24,000 school vehicles twice a year.
Officials say nearly half of all schools vehicles are temporarily placed out of service following the 180-point inspections.
The MVC says about 95 percent are deemed safe after repair and re-inspection.
