Charges dropped against man beaten by police

The Kings County District Attorney has just dismissed charges against a young man who was caught on camera being beaten by two NYPD officers.

District Attorney Charles Hynes says, "After review of all available evidence, we decided to dismiss the charges against Ehud Haleavy."

Haleavy was facing resisting arrest and assault charges after a confrontation in a Jewish community center in Crown Heights earlier this month.

Center officials say the tape shows the officers used excessive force.

The officers, who say Haleavy resisted arrest, are on modified duty pending an internal investigation.
