Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced effective 11:59 p.m. on Friday, the temporary fuel management program that was instituted on November 9th has officially been suspended.
The original program was a coordinated regional effort designed to better manage and ease fuel challenges that arose as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
This temporary policy required gas stations to sell fuel only to drivers with vehicles bearing license plate numbers that correlated in odd/even terms with the day of the month.
