An Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning when 5-year-old Nahzir Edwards and his 2-year-old sister Mlyliah Edwards were allegedly taken by 29-year-old Fitz Edwards from their mother's Barber Avenue apartment in the Bronx.
The couple was apparently fighting when a gun went off, but the bullet missed the mother.
Police say Edwards then set the apartment on fire and fled with the kids in a carjacked vehicle.
The driver of the hijacked car was unharmed.
An Amber Alert was issued for the missing kids, but then canceled after they were found in the vehicle unharmed at about noon Sunday in Harlem.
Edwards was arrested and charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, arson, reckless endangerment, petite larceny and harassment.
