3rd suspect sought in home invasion

STAMFORD

According to police, three men armed with handguns lured a resident of an apartment on Hope Street out into the street, and then attacked him. They forced the victim back inside and to his apartment. The man's wife, baby girl and two friends were inside.

The gunmen forced everyone on the ground by gunpoint, then threatened to killed the infant if they did not surrender money.

The bandits searched the apartment and left with cash and jewelry.

The next day, investigators caught two of the suspects. 22-year-old Mikel "Mikey" Gjurah and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested at home on Fox Glen Drive.

Investigators said Gjuraj purchased three handguns in the hours prior to the home invasion.

Police found what they believe are those weapons in the trunk of a vehicle parked on Elm Tree Place.

Gjuraj and the juvenile face home invasion, robbery, assault and related charges.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, but they have not released a description of him.
