Police and firefighters say a man was accidentally shot by a fellow deer hunter late Monday afternoon.

It happened in Newburgh in a marshy field about two thousand feet off Forest Road.

It took emergency personnel almost an hour to reach the victim due to the rough terrain.

The victim is an adult male.
