Boy raising money for Sandy victims honored

JERSEY CITY

Officials gave Peter Coar a special proclamation at City Hall in /*Jersey City*/ Friday.

Earlier this week, Peter donated $200 he had saved to a Sandy relief fund.

Then he started selling bracelets to raise more money.

Even Friday afternoon at City Hall Peter continued to think of others.

"I just wanted to thank everyone that bought a bracelet that helped me raise this much money for the Red Cross," Coar said.

"That's right, we left that out, all of these monies are going to the Red Cross," said Jerramiah T. Healey, Jersey City Mayor.

"Petey's Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund" has raised about $1,600 so far.
