Staten Island Railway express trains started running again Monday as the railroad makes its way back to normal after Superstorm Sandy.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced Friday that the express service would partially resume Monday morning.

The agency says for now, only three of the usual 10 morning express trains are running. But the MTA says service should be back in full by the end of the year.

The express trains are serving the 7:45 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.

Local service is already operating normally.
