Moreland Commission on utilities holds first meeting

NEW YORK

Not many members of the public showed up.

Governor Andrew Cuomo established the Moreland Commission to come up with recommendations on how the utilities can be better prepared for storms.

The meeting featured testimony from experts in other states like Vermont on what they've done to upgrade their electrical systems.

The commission is planning two more hearings this month, both on Long Island.
