Scalpers selling 121212 concert tickets for thousands

It's a have to be there event, the 121212 Benefit Concert at the Garden.

Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi will perform along with an A-list of other superstars to benefit Superstorm victims.

"I really want to go to the show," said Angelo.

Angelo got tickets to the show, but they are such a hot commodity, he's trying to sell them on eBay, for $1,350.

That profit will not be going to Sandy relief, it will go in his wallet.

Some are selling them for a lot more.

Eyewitness News saw tickets on ticket reseller StubHub for nearly $60,000 apiece, and several seats for $48,000. Again, money that won't help victims.

"It turns your stomach," Senator Charles Schumer said.

Senator Charles Schumer is calling on legitimate resellers to stop the sale of tickets to the show, and some have.

TicketsNow and Ticket Exchange refuse to resell the 121212 tickets, but StubHub, the biggest of them all, continues to deal in the tickets.

In a statement Thursday night they said, "The StubHub marketplace does not technologically operate price controls and restrictions. We intend to allow resale for this event and encourage ticket sellers to donate a share of proceeds to the charity."

Angelo says he'll keep whatever money he makes.

"I guess that wasn't the original intention but that's what ends up happening," Angelo said.

"There's a real obligation of everybody involved to make sure every nickel raised from this wonderful concert goes to the people who so desperately need help," Sen. Schumer said.
