Bergen PAC concert to benefit Sandy victims

NEWARK

Important community and regional efforts are underway to raise money for storm victims.

In Bergen County, national and New York celebrities are coming home, to raise much needed money for their communities.

Back home to be on stage again in Englewood. Liz Gillies and her family lost power for a week during sandy.

Seeing the devastation in familiar places like Moonachie, many affected or power outages it was hearing stories of neighbors struggling that moved the Nickelodeon star to participate in the benefit.

"A sad shockening thing and you never think it's gonna happen where you live, the artist are being paid all working for free, giving as much as they can," said Gillies.

Everyone is donating their time and talent so 100 percent of proceeds can go to New Jersey relief funds and the school districts of Moonachie and Little Ferry.

The scenes of Sandy's wrath are still fresh for many even as the cleanup and recovery moves forward. The hope is that filling seats at Bergen PAC this weekend is a way for the community to heal both financially and emotionally.
