Students put 'hacking' skills to the test

LITTLE SILVER, NJ

Mandy Galante has won a local teaching award for leading the school's technology curriculum. Among other skills, she teaches how to be a hacker.

She says she makes sure the students pledge that they will not use their hacking skills for negative or illegal reasons.

Today's class also involved so called "digital forensics." The kids were faced with figuring out elements of a real-life, high profile case.

The assignment involved studying a photo that included millionaire software mogul John McAfee, sought for questioning in a murder case.

The classes are worth college credits, through a special arrangement, and they offer students a ticket to the future.
