Cuomo delivers $40 million in federal Sandy aid

LONG BEACH, N.Y. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is delivering the first federal aid since Superstorm Sandy hit his state - $40 million to help remove debris on Long Island. On Sunday, the governor visited Long Beach off Long Island's south shore, where the storm wiped out roads, beaches and homes. Long Beach is getting more than $24 million. Almost $16 million goes to Nassau County Public Works. Later Sunday, the governor is heading to Manhattan, where he's expected to announce more federal funding that will help repair damage at New York University's Langone Medical Center. The 1,000-bed hospital on Manhattan's East Side was flooded during the storm and lost power. More than 200 patients had to be evacuated. Full services at the hospital will not reopen until January.
