Bergen Co. officers play Santa's elves for Newtown

A huddle of uniformed officers from Bergen County filed out in a caravan of black and white cars with red and blue flashing lights on a different type of relief mission Friday morning.

It was a toy run to Newtown, Connecticut.

"Just watching the news, hard for all of us," Officer Rich Liguori, Oradell Police, said.

The 28 PBA agencies collected enough toys to fill up a dump truck and more.

The toys, worth more than 10-thousand dollars, will be passed out Saturday morning to sandy hook elementary students, the children of first responders and other Newtown children.
