Port Authority partially evacuated due to gas smell

NEW YORK

The terminal's south wing was evacuated and buses were halted after the odor was reported around 8:15 a.m.

Bus service to and from New York Port Authority was boarding and discharging all passengers on 10th Street while the building was ventilated.

The inbound Lincoln Tunnel was also experiencing delays due to the police activity.

The gas smell dissipated and normal service resumed just after 9 a.m.

The source of the smell is unknown at this time.
