Village police in Sleepy Hollow tell The Journal News (http://lohud.us/ZqO384 ) that 49-year-old Christopher Howson attempted to strangle his wife in their home early Saturday. The police say he then called 911 himself.
Police responded and found the 47-year-old woman unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
Howson was arrested on charges including attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
