It's called Surge Protector - Sandy Relief Ale.
Eight craft breweries on Long Island came together and created the IPA with a singular goal to raise money for those on the island still recovering from Superstorm Sandy.
One of those is one of their own. Barrier Brewing company in Oceanside was wiped out by Sandy.
"We are stronger together then we are separate and this is a good demonstration of that," Mark Burford of Blue Point Brewing Company said.
The eight breweries donated all the ingredients and collaborated on the recipe. It was brewed at Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue.
"The buzz is definitely starting to build. I think people are going to be psyched when it does finally come out," Curt Potter of Blue Point Brewing Company said.
So all of the beer will be given to a distributor on Long Island, which will sell it to local beer stores. All the money the distributor collects will go to Barrier Brewing and Long Island Cares.
If you want to participate keep an eye out for the beer in stores and restaurants beginning January 22nd.
