Stubborn North Arlington fire destroys warehouse

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J.

The fire started at 11:35 a.m. at 29 Ewing Avenue and was initially under control before it rekindled around 5 p.m.

In addition to the flames, firefighters had to battle the harsh cold and freezing gear.

One firefighter suffered a minor hand injury.

"A lot of the roof has collapsed," North Arlington Deputy Fire Chief John Inzinna said. "The cold is making it harder for us to perform the operations. Everything is freezing over."

Many North Arlington residents reported low water pressure during the lenghty firefight.
