Westwood superintendent resigns over generator

WESTWOOD, N.J.

The Westwood Regional School Board unanimously accepted the resignation of superintendent Geoffrey Zoeller, who appropriated the generator to power his own home during the storm.

Zoeller also admitted that he had borrowed a district truck after the storm.

The 44-year-old Zoeller, who led the district for six years, initially defended his use of the generator but later apologized.

At a school board meeting in November, he acknowledged that he failed to "consider the political and PR implications" of using the district generator and school truck, saying he was "focused on dealing with this crisis."
