7 line back to normal after power outage

NEW YORK

A bad feeder cable in Queens knocked out service for more than three hours between 74th Street in Jackson Heights and Main Street in Flushing, and it happened right in the middle of the evening rush.

That caused a mess on Roosevelt Avenue, as buses tried to get passengers where they needed to go.

For a long time, no one was going anywhere.

Some just gave up.

"I have to walk another hour, and that's it," one commuter said.

Service was completely suspended until 5:45 p.m., when limited service was restored between Times Square and 74th Street-Broadway in Jackson Heights.

The MTA is ivestigating why the feeder failed.
