Two million people will line the streets along Fifth Avenue Saturday for the 252nd annual St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City.

The parade starts at 44th Street at 11:00 am. It's usually held every March 17th, which is St. Patrick's Day, but this year March 17th falls on a Sunday. So the celebration is Saturday due to religious observances.

The parade marches up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street to 79th Street, where the parade finishes at around 4:30 - 5:00 pm. Below are street closures for the parade on Saturday.

The above streets will be closed for this event.

New Jersey Transit doesn't want passengers drowning the shamrock to and from New York City's St. Patrick's Parade. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted on any train to and from New York or Hoboken on Saturday.

Additional train service will be available on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Morris & Essex and Port Jervis lines on Saturday for the parade.

There also will be extra bus trips.
