The attack happened at around 3:30 Sunday morning in Soundview, near Westchester Avenue.
The suspect was caught on camera.
Police say he pushed a 27-year-old woman from behind to the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face, then sexually assaulted her.
The victim was left heavily bruised.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, 5'5", with a thin build and wearing a ski mask, gray jacket and white sneakers.
