South Street Seaport stores hope for strong summer

The few stores that survived Hurricane Sandy at the South Street Seaport are heading into what could be a final, troubled summer.

Dozens of seaport businesses are still closed.

And those that have reopened are dealing with much less foot traffic.

Business owners are hoping a good summer season will help, but there's another shock coming this fall when Pier 17 is torn down.

It will be replaced by a new complex that is not scheduled to open until 2015.
