As many as four tractor-trailers were involved in the crash, which was reported around 1:45 p.m. Monday on the outer roadway of the southbound lanes near Exit 8A in Monroe Township, Middlesex County.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Authorities say all lanes are blocked in the outer roadway near Interchange 8A.
State police say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
