NEW YORK --A pedestrian walking on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn was struck and killed by a car early Sunday morning. Police say it happened shortly after midnight in the Bath Beach section. The victim, a man in his 50's, was walking in the left lane near Exit 5 when he was hit by the driver of a Nissan Altima traveling westbound. Police say the driver remained on the scene and there appears to be no criminality involved. The victim's identity has not yet been released. Police closed all lanes on the westbound Belt Parkway while they investigated.
