Displaced Oklahoma tornado pets coming to Long Island

PORT WASHINGTON

Hundreds of dogs and cats that got lost during the storm are being are being kept in shelters.

On Monday, more than 50 cats and dogs from Oklahoma shelters are coming to North Shore Animal League's adoption headquarters in Port Washington on Long Island.

They will be put up for adoption so there's more room for animals displaced by the tornado in Oklahoma shelters.

Once evaluated medically and behaviorally, the puppies, kittens, dogs and cats will be available for adoption during the Pet Adoptathon on Saturday, June 1 at 9 a.m.
