Drivers on Long Island continue to deal with major flooding Tuesday.
The roads were a mess in Hauppauge, where cars splashed through deep puddles on Route 111.
And in Selden, some drivers were forced to turn around after flooding made Boyle Road nearly impassable.
Flooding is a big issue across the area, where already-soaked roads took a pounding from the overnight rain.
In some places in New Jersey, roads are closed, including Ocean Avenue in Belmar. Pumps have been operating overnight to remove overflow from Silver Lake and Lake Cuomo after both lakes went over their banks during the storms.
Thankfully, the Garden State Parkway is running normally after flooding closed a six-mile stretch near the Toms River tolls Monday.
Maintenance crews used plows to push the water off the roadway.
In Brick, there was severe flooding on Burrsville Road. In addition, Route 35 was closed in Point Pleasant Beach, as was Route 71 in Manasquan and Asbury Park.
Drivers were urged to use caution, as only a few inches of water can cause cars to stall. It can also be difficult to judge how deep pooled water is, so be very careful when deciding to drive through flooded streets.
