Queens man's drowning linked to Superstorm Sandy

NEW YORK

The medical examiner's office announced Monday the man's body was discovered in his trailer home on Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Queens more than five months after the storm. The cause of death was drowning.

Sandy walloped New York on Oct. 29, damaging thousands of homes and knocking out power to an estimated 1 million people.

The storm was blamed for more than 100 deaths in 10 states, with many victims drowning in their homes. In New York City alone, 36 of the 44 deaths were from drowning.
