Two people are dead and police fear a third may have been trapped in a fiery crash on Long Island early Thursday.

The car crashed into a tree and burst into flames on Grand Boulevard in Brentwood just after midnight.

The minivan, with out-of-state license plates, was fully involved when firefighters arrived.

Two adults were pulled from the car, but it was unclear if there was also a child trapped in the back.

Evidence markers lined Grand Boulevard, which runs through a residential neighborhood and has a 30 mile-per-hour speed limit.

It was not immediately known what caused the crash.
