The shots rang out at a party early Sunday morning in Brooklyn, and police had released surveillance video of two men fleeing the scene.
Officers arrested 24-year-old Tyrone Brown Tuesday at the Holland Tunnel after Port Athority police spotted his car. The NYPD had reportedly told them Brown regularly traveled that route.
Police are still searching for the second suspect.
The shooting happened shortly before 1 a.m. after a dispute broke out at the party on East 52nd Street in East Flatbush.
Police say five women and four men were shot.
Most victims, who range in age from 18 to 43, were grazed by bullets or hit in the legs.
Police say the violence erupted when the shooter was either told to leave or prevented from entering the party.
