Worker attacked with hammer at Staten Island furniture store

NEW YORK

The incident happened just after 12:30 p.m. on June 26 at Itsy Bitsy Baby store on Forest Avenue.

Police say the two men entered the location and attacked the worker with a hammer. The suspects did not remove any property or make any comments to suggest a possible motive.

They then fled in an unknown direction.

The 30-year-old victim sustained numerous lacerations and swelling to the head and body.

The owner told Eyewitness News he called 911 shortly after the attack.

He also says, he was in the process of moving his store up the block, so that maybe the suspects thought the cameras weren't working.

Both suspects are described as black men in their 20s. One was approximately 6-foot tall and 160 pounds with a thin build, short black hair and a dark complexion, while the other is 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds with short black hair and dark complexion. Both were wearing white T-shirts.
