It happened at the corner of Bergen Avenue and Avenue K in Bergen Beach at around 2 a.m. July 22.
Investigators say the man threatened a 23-year old woman with a gun, and demanded she get into his minivan.
She was able to get away unhurt and the suspect fled the scene.
Police have released a sketch of the man they're looking for.
He is described as a Hispanic male in his 20's with a thin build. He was driving a dark-colored minivan.
