Family dog goes missing after burglary in Long Island home

MERRICK, New York

The home on Merrick Avenue was burglarized Monday morning and the homeowners 2 year old bichon/shihtzu 'Cookie' has been missing ever since.

According to police the suspect gained access to the house through a basement window and was able to take a flat screen tv, assorted jewelry, a video game system, I-Pad, cell phone and designer bags. The suspect left through the front door.

It is not known if the dog walked out of the house or was taken by the suspect.
