89-year old Herbert Margolin and his wife Lee were staying at their granddaughter's apartment earlier this week.
The couple was in Midtown when they say a man wielding a sharp fork tried to grab Lee's purse.
Herbert was not having it, and wrestled the man to the ground.
Lee also joined in, punching the suspect until he ran away.
"Neither of us are physical fitness people, as a matter of fact my husband is a couch potato," Lee said.
"So I did the best I could, and it worked out, thank God," said Herbert.
Police arrested a suspect a few blocks away.
The couple didn't let the experience ruin their vacation.
They went to a Broadway show the next night.
