New Jersey church damaged by Superstorm Sandy reopens

LITTLE FERRY

About 800 people were on hand while clerics rededicated St. Margaret of Cortona Roman Catholic Church in Little Ferry Sunday.

Floodwaters reached as high as the pews, damaging the floor, part of the walls and the organ.

Soon after, the church's longtime pastor fell ill and died.

The Record newspaper reports Auxiliary Bergen County Bishop John Flesey told parishioners the church has been raised from the dead.
