Police say the accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday on the westbound Staten Island Expressway near the Martin Luther King Expressway.
Police say the 2000 Lexus struck a median and overturned. The driver was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident.
The driver was identified as 36-year-old Derrick Kearse of Staten Island.
