Church rededicated after Sandy

There was a special dedication Thursday night, marking a new beginning for a church on Long Island that was nearly destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.

It was standing room only for the rededication of St. Mary's Church in Long Beach.

The church has been closed since the storm.

It suffered extensive flood damage.

Nearly everything inside the church had to be replaced or renovated.

Father Barr says people from all over the area volunteered to help in the clean-up and recovery at the church, including people who lost their homes or suffered major losses in the storm.
