Pedestrian killed by motorcycle in Washington Heights

NEW YORK (BODY TEXT) A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorcycle early Saturday morning in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. The accident happened at about 4:15 a.m. on Amsterdam Avenue at West 167th Street. Police say the 37-year old male pedestrian was trying to cross Amsterdam when he was struck by one of three motorcycles traveling northbound. The unidentified Manhattan resident was pronounced dead at the scene. The 28-year old motorcycle rider was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition. The two other motorcyclists were not involved in the collision and remained on the scene of the accident.
