Photos released of suspect in armored car heist

Investigators have released new photos of the man they believe robbed an armored car in Brooklyn Thursday morning.

The car was robbed of $500,000 during a brazen carjacking in Canarsie.

One masked suspect pointed a gun at the driver of the armored car while parked outside a Rockaway Parkway store at about 11:20 a.m.

He ordered the driver to take him Linden Boulevard, where he ran off with the $500,000, police say.

The driver was not hurt.

The gunman, who did not fire any shots, was not caught.

The suspect is described as a male black in his 20s. short in height, wearing all black with a mask covering half of his face. He fled east on Linden Boulevard on foot. He was carrying a bag of a lot of money.

The FBI is investigating whether there is a link to a similar robbery in the Bronx two years ago.
