Small plane makes emergency landing on Long Island

BABYLON, N.Y.

The plane landed on a two-lane roadway at Robert Moses State Park in Babylon.

George Gorman of the New York State Parks Department says the Cessna landed in a remote section of the park.

Authorities say the pilot was experiencing engine trouble after taking off from Long Island MacArthur Airport and safely put his plane down at about 8:40 a.m.

The pilot, 69-year old Boaz Eidelberg of Smithtown, was not injured and no one was injured on the ground.

The FAA is investigating.
