The women and young girl killed in a drunk driving crash in Jefferson more than a week ago were laid to rest Tuesday in Jersey City.

11-year-old Tevia Booth and 62-year-old Lucy Colon died when an SUV carrying nine family members slammed into a home.

Julissa Colon, 36, who was five-months pregnant, also died.

Investigators say another family member, Luis Torres, had been drinking for hours during the family gathering at Lake Tomahawk before getting behind the wheel.

He was trying to pass a slower car on Route 15 when he sped up and lost control, causing his SUV to go sailing over an embankment and crash onto the steps of a home.

Torres faces charges of vehicular homicide, aggravated manslaughter, assault by auto, and his next court date is September 18th.
