The incident happened just after 1 a.m. on August 21.
The 20-year-old woman fought back after the man grabbed her from behind and tried to assault her, and the attacker took off.
It's not clear if the woman is a student at Fordham.
The suspect is described as Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-7 and weighing 145 pounds.
