New Jersey cops charge man with spying in school bathroom

HACKENSACK, N.J.

Hackensack police say that 38-year-old Charles Thomas of Paterson has been charged with burglary and invasion of privacy.

Capt. Thomas Salcedo tells the newspaper that Thomas allegedly snuck into bathrooms on two occasions in August and once in September.

On one occasion, police say Thomas followed a woman into the bathroom but she screamed when she spotted him.

On two other occasions Thomas allegedly followed women into the bathroom and spied on them over the partitions.

Salcedo says university security officers spotted Thomas' car and provided a license plate number to police.

It's not immediately clear if Thomas has a lawyer.
