A 25-year old man was charged Friday in the attack on a gay couple outside Madison Square Garden, back in May.

Martin Martinez was charged with hate crime charges of attempted assualt and aggravated harassment.

Martinez is accused of being a part of a group of four to five rowdy Knicks fans who accosted the victims, who were walking arm-in-arm down Eigth Avenue between West 34th and 35th Streets.

The 22 and 28-year-old victims say the men started yelling anti-gay slurs, then beat the couple up after a Knicks game.

The group hurled homophobic slurs at the victims and then punched and shoved them to the ground. One victim suffered a broken nose, and the other suffered a broken wrist.

Martinez was released on $1,500 cash bail. His next court date is December 2.

Detectives are hoping Martinez helps find the other suspects.
