Macy's CEO, Rev.Sharpton meet to discuss racial profiling

NEW YORK

The meeting on Monday with CEO Terry Lundgren follows an incident in which an actor on the HBO series "Treme" was detained by police after buying his mother a $1,350 Movado watch. Actor Robert Brown says he thinks he was stopped at Macy's flagship Manhattan store because he is black.

Macy's says the meeting "included a healthy exchange of information and ideas" and that it does not tolerate discrimination.

Sharpton says Macy's needs to make it clear how they can guarantee profiling won't happen, because "we are not going to go through the holidays and have people shop where they are going to be profiled."
