The vehicles crashed on Elmont Road, near Dutch Broadway, just before 7:20 a.m. in Elmont.
The force of the collision sent the ACME school bus onto the front lawn of a home.
Two children and three adults, including the bus driver and a bus matron, were hurt.
The injuries were not believed to be serious.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
