Former Mayor Dinkins attends book signing

NEW YORK

Dinkins was promoting his new book, "A Mayor's Life" in Flushing, Queens.

The 86-year-old says he's feeling pretty good after recovering from pneumonia.

He also says he may have supported Bill Thompson in the race for mayor, but he's "not unhappy" that his former aide Bill de Blasio will be the next mayor.

He even sees himself as a matchmaker since de Blasio met his wife Chirlane while they were working in Dinkins' administration.

Dinkins also weighed in on a decision de Blasio's family has yet to make, and said they should move from Park Slope in Brooklyn to Gracie Mansion on the Upper East Side.

Dinkins said their son Dante should get a security detail so he can get to his school in Brooklyn.
