Authorities say an 8-foot python has been recovered along with drugs, guns, pit bulls and cash in the arrest of two drug dealers in New York City.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan announced the arrests of Mark Hansen and Manuel Bey Friday after an eight-month investigation involving multiple undercover drug and gun sales.

Hansen and Bey pleaded not guilty at their arraignments Friday and were in custody and unavailable for comment.

Brennan says investigators discovered the two pit bulls and the python in an aquarium while searching the Harlem building used by the men.

Brennan says in total more than 20 pounds of marijuana, four guns and $21,000 in cash were seized in the searches. The animals are in the care of Animal Care and Control.

Authorities say the trafficking operation was based inside an apartment building at 1 East 124th St., directly across the street from a playground at Marcus Garvey Park.
