3-alarm fire at Westfield home

WESTFIELD, N.J.

The fire broke out at around 7:30 p.m. Friday at a home on East Broad Street near Wychwood Road.

At one point, the fire was burning through the roof of the home. Firefighters were pulled from the building and forced to fight the blaze from the outside.

Firefighters have put most of the fire out. There is a heavy smoke condition in the neighborhood, however.

The owner of the home said nobody should have been home at the time. No injuries were immediately reported.
